COR is more than a software where our tasks are and we track time. The platform can help us organize our work, making us more efficient and giving us visibility over the great work we do.
To get the most out of the platform, we give the following recommendations:
Use COR as a calendar of activities
With our tasks loaded on the platform, we can organize our work week very easily. Apply the 'Type: Assigned to me' filters and then add the 'Deadline' filter by choosing the current week as the date. This will allow you to know all the pending tasks that you have to deliver this week. Note: it is important that the tasks have an assigned deadline, so ask your PM to upload them correctly.
You can also use other filters to, for example, see which tasks you have in New status or which tasks are Urgent. Besides applying these filters, you can also sort the tasks by clicking on the header of the corresponding column, for example: Priority.
Be aware of the number of tasks In Process
Within good practices of personal time organization, there is a rule regarding starting and ending tasks. It is highly recommended to avoid accumulating tasks in which we start working but do not finish them. This is because the accumulation of pending work can generate a bottleneck in our ability to deliver tasks, making it difficult to meet the deadlines and generating the impression that we have more work pending than we really need to do.
In COR these tasks are easily identified as In-Process tasks (yellow color). In our Task List, we can apply the 'Status: In Process' filter and see all the tasks to be completed. However, we recommend using the Card View, which allows us to identify at a glance the number of New, In Process, Suspended and Completed tasks.
Requests that completed tasks be archived
To keep your task pane tidy, it is important that your PM archives the tasks once they have been completed and delivered correctly. This will allow you to have only visibility of the tasks to be done and make your daily organization easier. Note: if you need to view archived tasks, you can always do so by changing the 'Active' filter to 'Archived' in your task list.
We recommend that you filter your tasks by Status: Finished to see which tasks have not yet been archived (which may mean that your PM has not yet done a review of your work). Leave a message within the task requesting its review and archiving, this way you will help your PM to keep the platform tidy.
Make sure we have recorded our hours
At the end of the day, we can go to the section Hours > My Hours and make sure we have recorded our time worked for the day. This process only takes a minute and allows us to fulfill our responsibility to record time worked. In this section we can do a quick load of hours, edit them and also accept the COR Suggested Hours (detected by the Artificial Intelligence engine).
